A little about me
Everyone Can Code Chicago
Most recently I've been involved with a organization called Everyone Can Code based in the Chicago Area. I joined their iOS Training Program the summer of 2020, where it took place virtually over the course of 6 weeks. Here I learned the basics of coding and building apps in Swift using XCode on a Mac. By the end, we had the opportunity to pitch an app idea via the 2020 App Showcase for a chance to join the App Acelerator program. I joined the App Acelerator program during the spring of 2021, where we worked towards getting an iOS app on the App Store, I was a part of team Habit Tree. Check out our app 'Habit Tree' down below!
Code Nation
Another program I've been in for about 2 years is Code Nation. I joined Code Nation in the fall of 2019 for the Intro to Web Development weekend sessions. Before the great pandemic of 2020, we would meet in person in various tech companies around Chicago. Here I learned to code in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for the first time. I had completed my first Hackathon ever with CN before the pandemic hit and we had to switch to a virtual setting. During the 2020-2021 school year, I was a part of the Fellowship I program where we continued to learn new programming skills. We worked with a company called ShopRunner where volunteers would help us develop small projects such as this one. I'm very proud to be a Code Nation Alumn!
